Queen Contest

The tradition of the Potter Valley Rodeo Royalty Contest is a celebration that highlights the western spirit and talent of our community’s youth. Every year, aspiring candidates vie for the prestigious title, showcasing not only their outstanding horsemanship skills but also their active engagement within our community. As an ambassador, our Queen proudly represents both the Potter Valley Rodeo and our community, participating in various events and rodeos across the state of California.

2025 Potter Valley Rodeo Queen Contestants

Madie Black is a proud Sophomore at Potter Valley High School and an active member of the Potter Valley FFA. A true country girl at heart, Madie enjoys raising and working with her horses and dogs, playing sports, spending time outdoors, and making memories with her family and friends.

Madie is honored to compete for Potter Valley Rodeo Queen as a way to broaden her horizons and gain valuable experience on her journey toward a career as a Large Animal Veterinarian. She also hopes to inspire other young women to follow their passions, embrace new challenges, and chase their dreams — both in and out of the arena.

Madie would like to extend her heartfelt thanks to her family, friends, and the entire Potter Valley community for their support and encouragement. She is proud to be part of this tradition and can’t wait to see everyone at the Potter Valley Rodeo this Memorial Day Weekend. Let’s ride, Potter Valley!


Hailee Fales is a proud Junior at Fort Bragg High School and a lifelong resident of Fort Bragg, California. Deeply rooted in the agricultural community, Hailee has dedicated much of her life to 4-H and FFA. She has spent 12 years in 4-H, raising market hogs and exhibiting a variety of livestock, and is a four-year member of FFA, where she continues to build her skills and leadership in agriculture.

Her passion for horses began at just five years old, and since then, Hailee has competed in numerous horse shows throughout California, as well as high school and junior rodeos over the past two years. She continually strives to grow as both a rider and a role model for young equestrians.

Hailee is honored to have the opportunity to run for Potter Valley Rodeo Queen. If crowned, she looks forward to representing the Potter Valley Rodeo and the sport of rodeo with pride, promoting the values of tradition, sportsmanship, and community spirit, while inspiring the next generation of rodeo enthusiasts. She warmly invites you to join her at the Potter Valley Rodeo over Memorial Day Weekend, where she will proudly compete and showcase her skills and dedication. Kenzie Osburn is a proud 17-year-old Senior at Ukiah High School, where she maintains an impressive 4.5 GPA. This fall, she will continue her academic journey at UC Davis, pursuing a double major in Agricultural Science and Political Science. Kenzie is a passionate leader within her community, currently serving as the President of both Ukiah FFA and Potter Valley 4-H. She has dedicated countless hours to agriculture and youth development and is proud to represent the traditions and values of rural life.

Kenzie’s heart has always belonged to the arena. She won her very first gymkhana at the Potter Valley Rodeo at the age of seven, and from chasing animals in the scramble to competing aboard her beloved horses, Apple and Trigger, the Potter Valley Rodeo has always felt like home. Running for Rodeo Queen is a dream come true, and Kenzie is honored to represent the community that has shaped her.
